Hit and Run

Is St. Patty's day supposed to bring good luck? Because Mike definitely needed a four-leaf clover today... on top of having a head injury last week at work, he came out to his vehicle just before lunch, and it looked like this:

No note. No business card. No insurance papers on his windshield. Some jerk backed a big pick-up straight into the front of our vehicle and took off. Mike had an officer come to write up a report for insurance, and he rendered the vehicle undriveable. So it was then towed to our local shop where it's in for repairs... if it can be fixed.

Apparently the rad was pushed back into the engine, and once started, the fan was all squirrely - so who knows what else is compromised. He's driving a rental pick-up right now, but he may end up getting a new pick-up after all. Just the kind of monetary investment we needed to make right now!

How can someone do this kind of damage and just drive off? Even the cop and the repair shop said the person had to have known they did this, there was just too much damage. And the kicker - it happened during the family-oriented Maple Syrup Festival over March break... what kind of example is this person setting for his/her kids?! So much for family fun.
