My Poor Baby

My sweet child felt like crap this weekend and it was absolutely awful to watch her suffer. I know it's good that she gets sick from time to time because it builds up her immunity, but it breaks my heart nonetheless.

It wasn't a cold, but rather an intestinal bug that really made her tummy upset. Although she wasn't sick to her stomach, she wasn't keeping in fluids - we were having to change her every 1/2 hour which is really unusual for her. It got so bad that we took her to the clinic to make sure she wasn't dehydrated and to get special bum cream because she developed a really painful diaper rash from all the 'movements' she was having - our little one was wincing and arching her back in pain every time I tried to put cooling cream on... :( We even had to give her Pedialyte to make sure her electrolytes were in check because at one point she didn't want to eat - we had to trick her into drinking it by pretending it was daddy's water; she always tries to drink from his glass!

After lots of baking soda baths, colloidal oatmeal baths, medicated bum cream and lots of mommy & daddy cuddles, kisses and rubs, she seems to be feeling a bit better today. Hopefully we'll rid the rash in the next few days and she'll be back to happy Caitlin :)
