Tonight was Santa Under the Stars - our nighttime Santa Claus parade!
It's always a feat to get the kids dressed, get across town, find a parking spot, and snag a front row spot... all while trying to cram in dinner. So we decided to snag McDonald's on the way to make one element a bit easier. Caitlin has had a Happy Meal once or twice before - it's not a regular occurrence in our routine (a good thing), so it was a nice treat on top of staying up late.
We made it!

It's been frigid in previous years, but tonight was cool - perfect parade weather! The two munchkins were bundled up, and all Adam had poking out were two little raccoon eyes :)

Caitlin gobbled up her cheeseburger and the show began.

It's so neat going to the night parade - everything is lit up and sparkling. It makes it extra special. It's now an annual tradition with Caitlin's godparents; they met us there once again in our 'usual spot' :)

Caitlin heard the bagpipes approaching and craned her neck to see; it's always overwhelming to hear them boom!

It may not have been Loch Lomond, but neat to watch them play and march by.

Although Adam was due for a nap, there was no way he was missing out on this action. While daddy held Caitlin, Adam and I watched from our quad seat.

So pretty!

Finally, the moment everyone was waiting for... Caitlin and Auntie Nina spotted him. Santa Claus!

I didn't get any pictures of the big man or his float because I was too focused on the kids. Watching their reactions was hilarious! Adam wasn't so sure about him...

Another great parade! We packed up quickly once he passed by because it's a mad rush to get home with traffic.
Delirious from being up late, and jacked from candy canes, Caitlin wanted to show off her Happy Meal treat once we got in and talk about what we saw :) She obviously had a great time!

Adam was just as happy and snug-as-a-bug. Home just in time for his bottle and bed for both kiddies :)
