Late Night Partier

One of Mike's relatives got married today, and we went to the wedding reception to celebrate. And we brought the kids! The original plan was to have a babysitter come (my mom) because it's not often we get out, especially considering how late we'd be. But most of his extended family haven't met our two gems, so we bit the bullet and decided to keep them up late to show them off :)

Caitlin's grandma and nonno even bought her a pretty silver dress for the event which she was extremely excited to show off. Sitting pretty! Of course, Polly Dolly had to come too...

It hadn't really even started, but she was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Take a picture of us mommy! My beautiful, sweet girl :)

And proud daddy had Adam, who was more interested in watching the lights :)

Caitlin had a ball listening to the music while we ate dinner; there was a big band with a fabulous horn section who belted out great tunes the whole time. I danced at the table just as much as she did!

Adam was quite content the whole time, especially considering how loud it was. Surprisingly, he even fell asleep! He amazes me more and more every day.

Finally, the moment Caitlin was waiting for. She could see the bride from afar, but when she came over, Caitlin oogled over her flowing dress. It's neat to think how young girls are when they start dreaming about their own wedding... And it's scary for me to think just how quickly that will come ;)

I'm not sure who's bright idea this was, but the two cousins - Caitlin and Sienna - managed to finagle rose petals from a floral arrangement to gather and continuously throw up in the air. Caitlin didn't want to catch the bouquet, she was happy enough to do this :)

But she willingly took part in a lot of dancing! Granted it was standing on a chair at the table in this shot, but she had lots of daddy-daughter time on the dance floor. She was a dancin' fool!

It was WAAAAY past their bedtime so it was time to head home. We actually packed up and left around midnight, but had to negotiate with Caitlin 'just one more dance'. While she boogied one last time, I got Adam ready and waited at the front for my party girl. I'm glad everyone got to meet our two little angels! And I know after having such a late night, she won't be an angel tomorrow!!

She sure looked hilarious when we loaded into the van. Decked out with a shiny black faux fur coat and sunglasses, it seems natural for her to pose for a paparazzi-style photo. She's working the car seat all right!

We know that Caitlin transfers easily from van to bed at night. Although we packed her clothes to change into, we forgot to bring them. Damn! She of course fell asleep right away and when we pulled in the driveway an hour later, we got her changed and transferred her fairly easily. Guess all the party-ing wore her out :)

On another note, Caitlin and Adam welcomed another cousin today, Nico Alexander! Rob, Tana and Cristian weren't obviously able to make the wedding as a result, but we were ecstatic to hear the news that he arrived safe and sound. Congratulations guys!
