The timing couldn't be better; Adam is 3 months today and he's about ready to move out of our room + bassinet, and into his own room + crib. We managed to keep him longer in our bedroom than Caitlin, but he's growing so quickly that he just needs the extra space the crib will offer. That, and he's starting to rouse when we toss and turn at night, so his own room will offer the peace and quiet he deserves for a good night sleep!
When we told Caitlin it was time to set up her new bed, she was super excited. She has seen her new furniture sitting in the basement and we've been talking to her about moving for a while so it was no surprise she jumped for joy when daddy started setting it up :)
We were actually inspired to set everything up just before we went up to the cottage, but we thought it might be wise to wait until we got back for a number of reasons. My parents do have a big girl room all set up for her up there, but we'd rather do the switch at home. Who knows how she's going to react! All I can say is, she'd better like it. Her bedroom set was expensive and she's going to use it until the day she moves out!
Once her room was organized and pretty, we moved her old crib into Adam's room. It's all set-up and ready for him now but we'll wait to move him over. I doubt seeing him in her old crib would make her upset, but we'll give it a few days just in case.Sweet Pottery Barn dreams kiddo!
