Deep-Fried Turkey

Thanksgiving has arrived! We went to Mike's parents for a big feast; grandma made a regular turkey and all the trimmings, and nonno and daddy put the turkey deep fryer we received as a wedding gift to good use. The kiddies played in the backyard as the oil heated up...

Caitlin loves hugging her cousin Cristian.

He loves hugging her too, but a boogie took priority in this shot.

Then auntie Kristina introduced a bubble gun. Caitlin seemed to know how to make it work, and decided to teach Cristian.

It was a hit!

The two of them ran all over the backyard trying to catch billions of little bubbles :)

As usual, Caitlin screamed and laughed her head off.

Then she hid in the garden to do you-know-what.

Luckily that's just dirt... she thought it was a good idea to dig up some of grandma's flowers while she was there!

Luckily grandma didn't notice the evidence all over Caitlin's palms... she had her hands full with a certain little baby boy :)

Chubby little Adam cheeks!

In goes the bird! This is really just for fun - the real bird is fully cooked, basted and ready to carve.

But it cooks in no time in the deep fryer - 30 minutes tops!

Nonno's turn to hijack Adam!

All bundled and cuddled up :)

Then we all headed inside to gobble up the yummy meal. The deep fried turkey turned out just fine, but my favourite is still by far the traditional style. Caitlin agreed and couldn't eat it fast enough! Happy Thanksgiving!
