We planned to stay up at the cottage a few extra days because we have the time to spare, plus it's a nice getaway from the regular routine at the house. Who wouldn't want to stay as long as possible in this paradise?!
Caitlin, daddy and grandma walked down the road to the mailbox while Adam slept soundlessly in his bassinet downstairs. Glass of wine in hand, grandpa and I enjoyed relaxing on the front deck, watching the wildlife come and go to the bird feeder. Here chippy chippy chippy!

I absolutely love this time of year. The air is crisp, the fall sunlight casts a sweet glow across the trees, and there's always a yummy smell of something being cooked as soon as you walk inside - from butternut soup to apple cider.
The holidays only get better from here on out!
